On 4 November 2026, Cuprum Coin completed the burn of 27,900,000 non-circulating CUNP tokens, reducing the existing total supply by 93%.
This action forms part of our preparations for the Cuprum Coin Holder Recognition Programme and reflects our intention to carry the community’s historical participation forward as the project develops through Materra.
The completed transaction is available on BscScan.
From 300 Million to 2.1 Million
Cuprum Coin began in 2021 with an asset arrangement involving approximately 10 tonnes of ultrafine copper powder. The valuation presented at that time—approximately $3,000 per gram—provided the basis for the original 300 million CUC supply, using a nominal asset reference of $100 per token.
These historical figures explain the original structure; they are not current material prices or token valuations.
As the project evolved, its supply also changed:
- 2021: Original issuance of 300 million CUC.
- May 2024: Burn of 270 million CUC, reducing supply to 30 million.
- November 2026: Burn of 27.9 million CUNP, leaving 2.1 million.
Across the project’s CUC and CUNP history, the remaining supply is now 99.3% lower than the original issuance. The 2024 burn announcement records the earlier milestone.
What It Took to Reach This Point
Between 2021 and 2026, Cuprum Coin developed its own blockchain infrastructure, wallets and explorer, conducted its presale, integrated with exchanges and supported users through subsequent migrations.
Substantial resources went into development, contractual asset arrangements, storage, exchange integrations, market-making services, professional advice, marketing and daily operations.
The journey also brought persistent technical problems, difficult market conditions and two partnerships that ultimately ended. Mistakes were made, and important assumptions had to be reconsidered.
Each stage required further work, expenditure and rebuilding. Those experiences shaped a clear priority: establish greater control over production, strengthen independent verification and define the responsibilities connecting the material to its digital representation.
Materra: Turning Experience Into a Production Framework
That direction led to Materra and the development of a UAE-based scientific and commercial structure.
Our July 2026 article, From Credibility to Scientific Execution, explained the importance of scientific leadership, controlled production and independent verification to the project’s future.
In September, Materra announced the completion of an integrated laboratory and pilot-production framework for nano gold, nano silver and nano copper. It brings together production planning, quality controls, testing, safety and the evidence required before increasing production.
This is a concrete milestone in preparation for execution. Initial samples, independent testing and reproducible production remain the next steps, alongside the institutional arrangements needed to proceed.
Our Commitment to the Community
Our original presale participants, loyalty buyers and long-standing holders helped sustain this journey. Their contribution includes money, patience and trust through repeated changes.
The Cuprum Coin Holder Recognition Programme is being developed with that history at its centre.
Our intention is to establish a properly documented way to recognise eligible holders within the future framework. Any allocation or exchange mechanism will depend on the final agreements, eligibility requirements and applicable approvals. Its terms and timing are not yet settled.
Today’s burn is a completed step in that process. No action is required from holders in response to this announcement.
The Next Stage
The proposed future copper token would be backed by material produced through Materra’s planned production operations, independently verified and held under documented custody arrangements.
Issuance would take place through an appropriately authorised Materra entity or licensed partner, subject to the necessary approvals and clearly defined holder rights. The existing CUNP token does not acquire that future status through this burn.
Our next milestones must be measurable: produced samples, verified results, completed agreements and an approved issuance framework.
Since 2021, our commitment has meant continuing to work, invest, learn and rebuild. Today’s burn records another completed action along that path.
To our holders, loyalty buyers and everyone who has supported this journey: thank you. Your participation remains central to how we approach the next chapter.
