This decision followed a rigorous internal assessment of our earlier team composition. It became clear that certain individuals could not meet the exceptionally high scientific, operational, and relocation standards required to fulfill Materra’s ambitions in the UAE. Moreover, we have intentionally moved away from all previous connections — including any informal or word-of-mouth Chilean team structures — to establish a fresh, elite scientific foundation built exclusively for the UAE. This strategic shift is also driven by our goal to build and secure Materra’s own proprietary intellectual property (IP), ensuring that all core discoveries, methodologies, and nano-production protocols are developed under our direct ownership and within UAE jurisdiction.
Unprecedented interest and rigorous selection
In less than 24 hours, Materra received over 50 applications from distinguished scientists worldwide, eager to contribute to building the future of industrial nano-commodities. This overwhelming response was more than a milestone; it was a direct validation of Materra’s vision and a reflection of global appetite for pioneering nano-industrial science.
We have since conducted a meticulous selection process to form our initial core team, focused on:
- PhD-level expertise in nanotechnology, materials science, and industrial chemistry.
- Extensive experience leading nano-production facilities or applied nano research.
- Demonstrated publications, patents, and commercialization track records.
- Full operational readiness to establish and scale UAE-based laboratories and production lines.
Our final selections include scientists who have led nano-metallurgy programs at premier Gulf universities, pioneered new synthesis methodologies adopted by advanced manufacturing sectors, and executed large-scale nano-production protocols. Every member of Materra’s core scientific team is either already based in the UAE or is finalizing relocation to directly embed within our UAE operations.
Controlled scientific disclosures aligned with UAE interests
Consistent with Materra’s strategy and our agreements with local authorities, access to the identities and professional profiles of our Scientific Council will be strictly limited. They will be made available exclusively to designated UAE regulatory bodies and institutional partners for now. This ensures strategic confidentiality while reinforcing Materra’s alignment with sovereign interests and local industrial priorities.
